It was in the 19th century that auguste Chauvain bought a newly constructed building and made it one of the first palaces: the Grand Hôtel Chauvain. It was on the terrace of this hotel that an English client had the cannon fired at noon, which remained a tradition for the people of Nice.

Le Clock Restaurant, a quality brasserie in the heart of Nice, offers a new menu every season. Open 7/7 and all year round, it takes its name from the watchmaking passion of the first owners and pays homage to the numerous bell towers visible around the old town. A clock on the façade on rue Félix Faure marks the main entrance to the restaurant, also accessible from the hotel.
