The Château de Montrouge is located in Savigneux, 30 minutes from St Etienne, 45 minutes from Roanne, 1h15 from Lyon, and bordering the Montbrison sub-prefecture, near the A72 Lyon St Etienne Clermont Ferrand Paris motorway. It benefits from a magnificent and calm green setting of 60 hectares in the heart of the Forez ponds.
Former stronghold of the Lyonnais Chirat de Montrouge family, which Jacques confessed in 1646, the Château des Montrouge was built in the 4th century. The Castle is quadrangular and flanked by 2 towers. It has a very pretty facade of colored bricks in the fashion of Bourbonnais flanked by XNUMX round towers. The side façades are completed, one with a rectangular pavilion, the other with a third round tower.
